The Board of medicine proposal now includes

    • Practitioner of OM would be licensed as acupuncturists AND registered as practitioner of Oriental Medicine.
    • A licensee registered as a practitioner of Oriental Medicine would be allowed to practice East Asian herbology. East Asian herbology is defined as "The use of herbal preparations and products that contain as active ingredients parts of plants, minerals and other organic materials, or a combination, administered according to East Asian medicine tradition to normalize function."
    • An acupuncture licensee who is not registered as a practitioner of OM may "practice acupuncture and use supplemental techniques, including the use of non-prescription topical remedies which contain as active ingredients parts of plants, minerals and other organic materials, but may not use other herbal therapies unless registered with the board as a practitioner of Oriental medicine."
    • Additional concept for consideration:  Chiropractors and Physical Therapists would be able to obtain an acupuncture license with 400 hours of acupuncture education.

See below for full draft of regulations.
